PRESENTATION OF THE REPORT No. 1-2/2016 ON IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ACTION PLAN FOR CHAPTER 23

With the support of the MDTF-JSS, the Ministry of Justice organized public presentation of the First Report on implementation of the Action Plan for Chapter 23 on July 1, 2016. The Minister Selakovic gave the opening statement by saying that the process of drafting of the Action Plan lasted almost two years and that it was confirmed by all member states of the European Commission.  He informed the audience that the Republic of Serbia has completed 80% of all activities given in the Action Plan.

In addition to the Minister Selakovic, the audience was addressed by the Director of European Integration Office - Ksenija Milenkovic, the Head of the Rule of Law and Human Rights Department (OSCE Mission to Serbia) - Arthur Graham and Head of Chapter 23 Negotiating Group and Assistant Justice Minister – Cedomir Backovic.

The Head of Chapter 23 Negotiating Group – Cedomir Backovic noted that, as far as the 60 institutions and bodies of the Republic of Serbia forming the Group were concerned, Chapter 23 had already been opened.

During the event, on behalf of the Ministry of Justice, Milica Kolakovic-Bojovic, Vladimir Vukicevic, Lazar Djurovic and Darja Koturovic gave presentation on the topic: ,, Report No. 1-2/2016 on Implementation of the Action Plan for Chapter 23’’.  This Report, Action Plan for Chapter 23 with status of implementation and Statistical report on implementation of the AP for CH 23 could be found on the Ministry of Justice website. Statistical overviews on the effectiveness of the implementation of activities, the most significant results and activities that lie ahead in the area of judiciary, fight against corruption and fundamental rights were presented to the public.

It was announced that the public presentation of the Report No. 3-4/2016 would be held at the end of December 2016.
