With the MDTF support, the Judicial Academy has organized education for the Supreme Court of Cassation advisors and employees at the High Court Council Administrative Office within the human rights module. The education was realized within the five-day seminar that included civil and criminal legal areas.
The lecturers were eminent experts in the area: representatives of the Faculty of Law at the Belgrade University, judges of the Supreme Court of Cassation and the Appellate Court in Belgrade, the State Attorney Office, the Republic Public Prosecution Office and the Council of Europe. The seminar was realized using both theoretical and workshop methods, presenting domestic and international legal frameworks, case law of the European Court of Human Rights and contested issues of the domestic case law.
Participants from Supreme Court of Cassation and High Judicial Council obtained certificates in different modules in civil law (May 25-26, 2016), administrative law (May 27, 2016) and criminal law (May 30-31, 2016).
Evaluation conducted after the education showed that the participants rated usefulness, applicability and method of work with marks between 4 and 5. The lecturers were also highly evaluated. The civil law aspect had the highest marks. In addition to that, the participants have pointed out some other topics that should be processed at seminars; therefore, the Academy shall continue to organize education for the SCC advisors.
