In May 2016, the MDTF-JSS finalized an assessment of alignment of Serbian Juvenile Legislation with the EU 2012/29 Directive establishing minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime, as a support to the implementation of the Chapter 23 Accession Action Plan. The purpose of this assessment is to identify level of alignment of the Law on Juveniles with the EU 2012/29 Directive article by article. The Serbian legislator can use the document as a baseline tool for the amendments of national legislation in the process of its harmonization the EU acquis, especially Law on Juveniles, Criminal Procedure Code and Law on Execution of Criminal Sanctions. The assessment was conducted from March to May 2016 within broader MDTF-JSS initiative of the support to Serbian authorities in establishment of comprehensive and feasible victim support system.
