MDTF-JSS supported the Appeal Commercial Court in accelerating bankruptcy proceedings and litigations

The MDTF-JSS supported a meeting of Commercial Courts’ presidents and bankruptcy judges that was held in Vrsac on April 10-11, 2024. The primary objective of the meeting was to assess the performance of the commercial courts during the first quarter of 2024, with particular emphasis on reviewing the status of old bankruptcy proceedings.

Attendees discussed the underlying reasons for the prolonged duration of these proceedings and collaborated on developing a comprehensive plan of action to expedite their completion. This included establishing specific time frames for resolution and outlining the necessary steps to be taken by the courts in each individual case.

Additionally, the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the harmonization of practices among the Commercial Courts’ registry offices, improvement in the collection of court fees, and the management of court deposits.

Following the meeting, ongoing activities and oversight mechanisms were established to monitor the implementation of the agreed-upon plan. This involved collection of additional data and conducting further analysis to ensure that the outlined measures were effectively implemented and yielding the desired outcome.
